People call into Dream Dental all the time asking about the cost of the All-on-4® dental implant. We always tell them that the cost will vary depending upon a number of circumstances including the amount of work that needs to be done in order to set the implants in place. First, to provide a price over the phone prior to examining the patient or viewing a CT scan of the bone structure and density would be like agreeing to purchase a car located in another state without ever even seeing the actual vehicle, just a stock photo of it online. The All-on-4® dental implant is meant to be a permanent solution to unhealthy teeth, this being the case it is important that all factors be considered to ensure that the implants stay in place and remain healthy. Nobody wants the implants to fail, that would be less than permanent. Once a CT scan can be done and an examination performed, the Doctor can at that point provide a price that is the actual price without any caveats or hidden price increases.
Second, when someone calls in asking about the cost of the All-on-4® procedure, the dental office knows that they are more than merely curious about the cost of a dental procedure. They are wanting to know so that they can determine whether they can afford it. They are unhappy with their smile and they want a change. This emotion prompted the call, and to take advantage of this emotion and provide a pie-in-the-sky price just to get them in so that their hopes, dreams and ambitions can be dashed by the actual price—is in our estimation a bit disingenuous and downright cruel in some cases. This method of bait and switch salesmanship is used all throughout the world in many different forms and fashions, but it should not have place in an industry where you are literally playing with people’s heart strings.
